Eugene McClure founded McClure Construction in 1975. For over 40 years, Gene has built the company from the ground up, producing Sand and Gravel, Crushed Stone, Topsoil and Mulch. From a single-man operation in 1975, with only a Ford six-wheeler dump truck, a 1973 John Deer 350B bulldozer and a John Deer 500A rubber tire backhoe; McClure Construction is now the largest construction company in the area, with two pit locations in southeastern Connecticut. As it has done for the past 40 years, McClure Construction will continue to supply the area with all its earth material needs, well into the future.
McClure Construction now has two locations: 61 Miner Lane in Waterford, CT, and the Groton Reservoir in Groton, CT.
After opening its second location in Groton, McClure Construction positioned itself uniquely amongst its competitors. The addition of the Groton location gave McClure Construction the capacity to handle the largest commercial orders while at the same time, still being able to serve homeowners and the small quantity orders. From these two sites, McClure Construction is able to produce a wide variety of products ranging from topsoil, crushed stone and processed gravel, to sand, bank run and recycled gravel, along with many others.
Our customers always get “The very best quality, at rock bottom prices.” Whether you need thousands of yards of screened loam or just a few yards of stone, McClure Construction will get the job done on time and at a fair price.
